Travelogue #8 Tanjung Sepat day trip

0

Tanjung Sepat, a fishing village, one and a half hours away from Kuala Lumpur, a good place to go for short, day trip.

Things to do/ indulge:

1. Lover's bridge 情人桥
Beautiful sunny blue sky, but disappointing dirty sea and ruined bridge
Hmm..... doubt anyone would want to walk by the "beach"

2. Hai Yew Heng Pau 海友兴手工海南包
We were lucky that the queue wasn't that long.
Menu (varieties of bao (buns) to choose from)
Notice to customers to avoid buying feigned buns
Bought 5 buns to share with hubby.
Pork bun 生肉包 RM2.40
Pickled vegetable with pork bun 梅菜包 RM2.20
Kaya bun 加央包 RM1.60
Red bean bun 豆沙包 RM1.60
Turnip bun 菜包 RM1.60
Buns in the making
In my opinion, the buns are overrated and the fillings are below expectation (taste and quantity perspective). You might want to have a go if you're nearby or in the town, but I personally wouldn't think it's worth to drive all the way from elsewhere just for them.

3. Kwo Zha B Coffee 古早味咖啡
One can smell the coffee aroma from far away and you'll know you're at the right place.
It is located just beside
 Hai Yew Heng Pau.
RM7 per pack (10 coffee bags within - no added sugar)
Buy 5 and above to get 3% discount
Buy 10 and above to get 5% discount
You may request to taste their coffee before making any decision.
Traditional coffee processor
Coffee beans
~~This is how we do, do do do do, this is how we do~~
They even provide courier arrangements for customers who's "addicted" to their coffee but couldn't drive all the way to Tanjung Sepat. However, courier fee is borne by the customer.
Kopi O (coffee without milk) drinkers will definitely enjoy this! *wink wink*

4. Ambarella juice 沙梨水
Don't fancy caffeine? No worries! Try the refreshing fresh ambarella juice. It normally comes with sour plum in the drink.
RM3 per cup (Coffee shop opposite Hai Yew Heng Pau)

5. Mr. Lee fresh handmade fish balls
Mr. Lee sells dry prawns, fish balls, anchovies, fish maw & etc.
RM5 per packet (18 fish balls)
Am not a fish ball fan but would rate it as nice and reasonable (28 cents per fish ball).

6. Kuan Wellness EcoPark 官燕苑
Upcoming eco-tourism destination in Malaysia.
Sells bird nest and varieties of organic food.
Three and a half storey swiftlet house - the source of main attraction : bird nests
Visitor and sales centre
Green promenade
Holland once again?? Ahh... *reminiscing*
Mini zoo entrance fee costs RM3.00 per person. Kids will definitely enjoy it as rabbits are allowed to roam around freely.
Bird food and carrot for the rabbits are sold here.
Nice scenery and pleasant to the eyes. Definitely a good place to visit for family with young kids.

7. Gano farm 宝芝林
Growing LingZhi mushroom
Sliced LingZhi and left to sun-dry
Gano farm also grows oyster mushroom 蚝菇, black fungus 黑木耳 & etc.
Erm....not really a tourist attraction unless you're interested in the LingZhi growing process and would like to buy LingZhi or other mushrooms.

8. Baywatch Seafood Restaurant 海湾海鲜坊

Apologies that I did not manage to snap a few picture of our lunch as we can't wait to satisfy our palate when the dishes arrived.
The first and only dish that I manage to capture : Salted egg crab (RM50 per kilo (3 crabs))
Abundance of crab roe *sinful cholesterol*
Total bill comes to RM275 (approx. RM20 per person) which is totally reasonable as we had 2kg of crab, prawns, mantis prawn, 'la-la', squid, meat and vegetables.
Food: §§§§ (fresh, tasty and big portion)
Price: §§§§ (reasonable)
Ambiance: §§§ (by the seashore)

Enjoying the breeze~~

Hope the above helps for those planning for a day trip to Tanjung Sepat. :)

Cheers,
X.O.X.O.  Ms. Lor
