Alessio @ Publika (Solaris Dutamas)

0

Had Alessio (Italian Asian fusion cuisine) at Publika for our first dinner of the year.

We're lucky that we manage to get a table for 11 on a new year day without having prior reservation. and we even have a room to ourselves. *woots woots*
Bar view of Alessio from our private room

Lemonade @ RM6.90 & Italian Passion @ RM11.90
Lemonade was disappointing as it says "FRESH lemonade" but instead it was cordial lemonade. *sigh*

Cream of Portabello Mushroom soup @ RM15.90
The soup is rich with mushrooms and creamy but yet the taste is lacking the oomph.

From the menu, it seems like Alessio centers around duck cuisine where majority of the mains has an element of duck. Hence, naturally we ordered pastas with duck.

Twin Duck Spaghetti @ RM26.90
As with the name, the pasta comes with duck meat and duck bacon which are awesome!!! (yes...duck bacon. it's duck, duck meat. Alessio is pork-free)
It also comes with loads of black olive (highlights to the olive lovers) and the tangerine goes well with the pasta.

Crispy Bacon Carbonara @ RM25.90
As for this, it comes with merely the delicious duck bacon.
It is more worthwhile to have Twin Duck Spaghetti than Crispy Bacon Carbonara as more meat are served with the former with merely RM1 difference.

Fried Chicken and Mushroom Spaghetti @ RM23.90

Crispy Fish and Chips @ RM19.90
Personally, I would rate the Fish & Chip as above average for the price. The batter is just nice and crispy. The side salad dressing is appetizing with a sourish pinch, rather than full of fattening 'geli'ish' mayonnaise. I had tried much worse fish & chips at a higher price.

Croque Madame @ RM16.90
This is for the bread & wedges (carbo??!!) loving madame. Egg yolk is still in 'liquid' form which is my favorite. =)

Apricot and Chestnut Chicken @ RM26.90
The portion is small and nothing special. Not quite value-for-money.
Rating according to the "kedekut expert": Taste 7/10 ; Price 3/10

Rosemary Chicken @ RM21.90

We ordered 2 pizzas for sharing:

Rosemary Chicken and Wild Mushroom Pizza @ RM28.90

Smoke Salmon Pizza @ RM28.90
Thanks to one of the babe who can't wait to have a bite of the pizza, this photo is missing 1 slice of pizza. =P

Their pizza comes in 12" size (8 slices). Reckon the pizzas are oven baked and they come with thin and crispy crust with generous toppings and cheese. I'll rate the pizza as satisfactory.

Note: Plain water is charged at RM1 per glass.

Also flipped through the menu pages and noticed the lunch set menu which is quite worthwhile. (only applicable during weekdays)
Peeps working nearby Publika should check out their set lunch!

It's a blessing to be surrounded by besties on the first day of the year. Love y'all forever Kerang peeps!!
Happy New Year to all and may we have an AWESOME year ahead!

Soul in Seoul @ Sri Petaling

0

What to eat for dinner tonight? Soul In Seoul @ Sri Petaling is my dinner choice last weekend. Passed by this Korean restaurant (same row as RHB Bank) a few times, finally got to try this.

The restaurant is divided into two sections - the modern and the more traditional place for Korean BBQ. I chose the old school design section as I thought it looks cool to sit on the unique barrel-like stool and enjoy your BBQ dinner.

Black barrel stool just like a traditional way to enjoy Korean BBQ.

Five refillable sides - kimchi, spinach, bean sprouts, fish cakes and soy fried water spinach.
I ordered a set for Two which includes a pork belly marinated with soy sauce, boneless chicken with spicy sauce and a kimchi stew. And add-on a ala-carte beef bulgogi for Mr.Han.

Their pork belly is a MUST TRY! I'm not a fan of pork fats but this is so HEAVENLY AWESOME. You will get what I'm saying when the pork belly's fat melted in your mouth with a taste of sweet soy flavour. It's so juicy, tender and mouth-watering.

Spicy chicken is very tender and well-flavoured with the house special spicy sauce.
I like the BBQ omelette too. These are all low carbs goodies! I'm so blessed.

The service is superb and efficient. The boss is very friendly and spend time with us to explain the wall arts and photo about Korean sad and happy history.

Mr.Han likes the beef bulgogi and he managed to finish a bowl of rice.

Price for 3 adults and 1 kid:
RM64 for discount set (pork belly, spicy chicken, kimchi stew and 2 rice)
RM35 for beef bulgogi ala-carte
RM3.50 for corn tea

Set dinner portion is for 2 pax but the portion is big enough for 3 adults and 1 kid with an add-on dish. I thought this worth the price and we are highly satisfied!

Have a good weekend everyone!

xoxo,
Ms.SS
