Senya Izakaya is located right below Zender's at Publika.

It offers varieties of Japanese cuisine, from sashimi to sushi to makimono to donburi. 

First of all, their specialty - Hokkaido Pork Don 

Hokkaido Pork Don with Half Boiled Egg @ RM23.80

This comes with miso soup and dips/sides (mayo, chili flakes, pickled ginger). The bbq pork belly is tender and juicy. The fat and lean portion is nicely distributed and the fats literally melts in your mouth.

Looks like a meat eater genre of donburi? Don't judge a book by it's cover!

Loads of vegetables hidden beneath the meat. The portion of vegetables definitely contributes to a healthier and more balanced diet (a way to help reducing our sin mentally *wink*). It also serves to neutralize the fatty meat if you're not used to consuming such amount of pork belly.

Senya Gozen @ RM32.00

This set includes chawan mushi, miso soup, salad, pickles, generous portion of tempura (vege, sweet potato & prawns) and terriyaki salmon.

Samurai Gozen @ RM28.00

This set includes chawan mushi, miso soup, salad, pickles, terriyaki sesame chicken and grilled mackerel. Both terriyaki chicken and grilled mackerel are cooked to perfection.

Chawan mushi @ RM4.50

Not a value for money. Not soft and smooth enough to be changing this price. 

Salmon and Avocado temaki @ RM7.50

Quite generous with the salmon slices and avocado. However, for the price, it's just an okay.

Inari sushi @ RM4.00

It's of the largest size I ever saw of a sushi. Reasonable for the price.

Takoyaki @ 11.80 (6 pcs)

Expects identifiable tako fillings (especially octopus). Slight disappointment with the fillings.

Unagi makimono @ RM19.80

Similar to all it's sushi, their makimono is a size L within it's kind. Generous with the unagi (eel), however it's not of top notch.

Their green tea is RM2 per glass (refillable)
A positive note on Senya Izakaya during lunch hours : rice and miso soup are refillable.
The bill totals up to RM220.40 for 5 pax (with 10% service charge and 6% government tax).
We walk away with a heavy stomach and dinner is out of the picture for the day.
